Brand Identity for The Central Ohio Chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (COAOSA)
What is the American Orff-Schulwerk Association?
In Orff-Schulwerk classrooms, children begin with what they do instinctively: play! Imitation, experimentation, and personal expression occur naturally as students become confident, life-long musicians and creative problem solvers. The Orff approach to teaching is a model foroptimal learning in 21st Century classrooms.
Central Ohio Chapter Rebrand:
This concept starts with the acronym COAOSA portrayed through different instruments and music symbols. My thought here was to have a brand that is clean and modern but with a playful twist. Along with the decorative logo there is a complementary typographic logo that mimics the colors used in the symbols. My thought was that those marks could be used together depending on the publication.
The color palette sticks to a primary color scheme which relates back to music education through the basics of color theory. These colors also express energy and excitement through color psychology. Red = excitement, energy, passion, courage, attention. Yellow = enthusiasm, happiness, positivity. Blue = trust, responsibility, loyalty. I’ve also added a black and white to use along side the three primaries.
